Des Renford Leisure Centre

Elevating leisure infrastructure sustainably at the Des Renford Leisure Centre.

The Des Renford Leisure Centre project, designed by Brewster Hjorth Architects, undertaken by Icon Construction, involves the demolition of the existing entry building and the construction of a new two-story building linked to the existing aquatic center. The project incorporates environmentally sustainable design (ESD) initiatives, featuring passive solar design, natural lighting, energy-efficient fixtures and fittings, natural ventilation, and rainwater harvesting and recycling.

Apollo played a pivotal role in the realization of the Des Renford Leisure Centre project, contributing expertise in structural solutions. The scope included the fabrication and installation of 60 tonnes of specialized steel structures to support the innovative design elements. Notably, the project demanded precision and efficiency, aligning with the ESD principles incorporated into the building.
