World class Engineering Innovation Hub for Western Sydney

The 21 storey Engineering Innovation Hub is a major investment for Western Sydney and has been designed to blend state of the art commercial, education and retail facilities. A key design consideration for the building was to enable knowledge sharing and create meaningful connections between universities, industry and the community

Apollo delivered the complex architectural V-bracing across 18 levels on two elevations of the structure. The bracing comprised 700mm diameter x 20mm thick pipework, requiring high-precision fabrication and intensive welding to meet stringent structural strength and safety standards.

To maintain the momentum of the superstructure works, Apollo developed a tailored construction methodology that enabled the building to rise rapidly without being constrained by traditional bracing installation methods. Temporary support structures were erected level by level, with custom elements cast into each slab to anchor the bracing for the level above—ensuring a seamless and structurally sound progression across all 18 floors.
